Are you a teenager looking to make some money? What is the best way for you to make money? Your best bet will probably be to find a part time job where you can work after school and on weekends.
When you start looking, you need to look everywhere. You can't assume that they first place you look will be hiring, will be exactly what you want, and will hire you all in one day. Sure, that's possible, but don't expect it.
What kind of places can you look for a job? Here are some of the most common places for teens to work: fast food restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, malls, small businesses cleaning, car washes, etc.
Choose the top three areas where you want to work. For example, decide if you want to work at either a mall, supermarket, or car wash. Narrow it down for now. If you never want to work at a car wash, don't apply there.
Don't narrow it down just to the job you know you'll love. You do need some back up. If you decide you will not work anywhere except as a secretary at a hair salon, you might as well give up now.
Now start applying. Again, apply wherever you can. Most chain stores and restaurants have online applications. If you don't find a website, call or go in and ask for an application. You need to be proactive if you want a job.
Don't make your mom or dad do everything for you. If you don't take an initiative, you probably won't get and keep a job. If the manager has to keep talking to your mom, they won't hire you.
Part time job interviews shouldn't be nerve wracking. It's not like you're going out for a professional job. Just answer the questions, look presentable, look them in the eye, and be polite and honest.
